UN Submissions

During HRC55, CSW delivered an oral statement, raising its concerns over Vietnam’s targeted violations against religious and ethnic minorities and China’s crackdown on religion or belief groups and human rights defenders.

This submission seeks to draw attention to concerns regarding the right to FoRB in the People’s Republic of China ahead of the state’s fourth Universal Periodic Review (UPR). 

CSW submits this response to the Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary, or arbitrary executions, for his report on deaths in custody to be presented at the 53rd session of the Human Rights Council. This submission focuses on deaths in custody affecting Falun Gong practitioners.

Ahead of the visit to China of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in May 2022, CSW has produced the following briefing, including both benchmarks for the visit itself, and some current violations of the right to freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) in China.
